Compassionate Data
In one of the least developed countries in the Asia Pacific region, a private company has  taken the bold initiative to use ICTs to generate income and create jobs for disadvantaged youth – those who are orphaned, disabled or have been trafficked. Digital Divide Data (DDD) is a non-profit organisation that trains these young people in computer skills and English, and employs them to carry out data-processing work outsourced from western clients.
We visit their headquarters in Phnom Penh to find out how this works – and also how this model can be emulated in other developing countries.
